Lernid integration
If the protocols used by JFL are the same as the ones used by lernid, it's possible to use them both simultaneously.
Another nice thing of this is that we can use lernid for Ubuntu NL Mwanzo workshops at least for the time JFL itself isn't done yet.

Discussion:
~dooitze-de-jong: But why would we use IRC and not xmpp?
~marten-de-vries: Because Lernid uses it, and really, what are the advantages of using XMPP apart from that it's more modern? Compatibility is more important I believe.
~dooitze-de-jong: Maybe, but xampp supports audio, video, sharing desktop, chatting and sharing files. IRC only supports chatting and sharing files. I know that the international community would choose for our solution if we have irc integrated. We can combine these two protocols. The program can read lernid files and open meetings by the IRC way. When we combine IRC with XAMPP, the users can do a lot more with the program. And think it is important that teachers can share thair screen so students can watch how the teacher is doing it.
~marten-de-vries: Those things are mostly for client-to-client chatting (unusable in our server based solution). It also is less important now, because it's likely we'll implement an abstraction layer above the real chat protocols.
IRC support is mandatory to let this blueprint succeed however, and it's also a nice feature if we want JFL to be accepted in the Ubuntu community, which uses IRC heavily.
