Whiteboard

A few questions that need to be answered before writing the code:

How are classes given at the moment?
Are there problems with the current method?
Which features are requested by teachers?
Are there any problems for users who want to join a class?
Are there repititive commands, things, that can be automized?

Where can we get this information / who has given multiple classes

Some quotes from pleia2, which has some experience in classes:
"""the irc classes actually work pretty well as they are, most instructors don't even bother with slides or other tools"""

"""aside from space to host files (images and such to be used during the presentation), we don't really get requests for additional things in classes"""

Quote from nhandler (developer of lernid)
"""Keep in mind, a lot of the features that Lernid was originally designed to help with have been incorporated into ClassBot. This is useful because it means that our session leaders and participants aren't required to use some site/software to follow along (which was a bit of an issue at first when lernid first added support for pdf slideshows)"""

"""Instead of incorporating many new features into the tool, a better approach might be to simply use it as an alternate interface to some of the existing tools. For example, it could include a nice interface for interacting with ClassBot to process questions. It also might be better to move somewhere (either PM or #ubuntu-classroom-backstage) to discuss this further. We are a bit OT in here"""

The result of discussing on the mailing list (both Dooitze de Jong and Marten de Vries talking, partly Dutch):

Beide gebruiken IRC, evt. i.c.m. de standaard web chat.

typewith.me's (o.i.d.), evt. omgezet naar een paste.ubuntu.com linkje
o.i.d.

> Are there repetitive commands, things, that can be automated?
> Why would we? Could you give more details?
+ gebruikte typewith.me achtige dingen) genereren.
