Inkscape 0.46 provides a flexible architecture for creation of new grids types. It would be great using it to create composition guides such as the golden spiral or the diagonal method.

2008-02-19 bryce: Spec looks like it's coming along fairly well. A few comments so far - I would suggest including a mockup or drawing to conceptualize how the grid type(s) would work. Please also briefly address UI changes to enable it (e.g., dialog controls for selecting/customizing the grid type/settings, elaborate on how Jon's mini-toolbar stuff would be used, etc.)
