Hum

Use conduit to synchronize music/(video?) considering it was blessed as an external dependancy in gnome

Registered by John McHugh

The Conduit Project created by John Carr has recently been blessed as an external dependency within gnome 2.24. Its goal is to create a centralized service to manage the synchronization and conversion of data into other formats. Another goal of conduit is to have a unified UI for users to keep track of all the synchronizations which are being managed within gnome.
The experimental branch of conduit already supports synchronization to ipods for both video(transcoding support) and audio(transcoding support)
Conduit seems like the perfect solution for hum in the future as it is decentralized from hum itself insuring hum developers can concentrate on hum and conduit developers can concentrate on synchronization, it also ensures that time isn't spent reinventing the wheel and that progressions on synchronization can be shared among multiple apps.
If conduit is used it will hopefully reduce bloat code within hum(lets keep it clean) :D
