Born (Rayleigh-Gans) and Rytov Fitting

Registered by Tom Dimiduk

We would like to be able to fit arbitrary shapes with a simplified scattering model. There are two scattering models that are of interest: Rayleigh-Gans (also called the first Born approximation) and the Rytov model. Both are used to solve inverse scattering problems for weak scatterers. There are also various interpolation schemes between them. See for example this paper:

Could be a good undergraduate project.
