LinkedIn is a big social network that is focused on professional links. From their site(http://press.linkedin.com/about):
"- LinkedIn has over 65 million members in over 200 countries.
 - Executives from all Fortune 500 companies are LinkedIn members."
I believe this is a good network to be supported... It already is by TweetDeck!

Searching for information about the LinkedIn API I found that already exists python library implementations for that, for example: http://code.google.com/p/python-linkedin/
