vperetokin:
Ahah! I got a solution that doesn't require root at login, *and* uses PolicyKit!
(12:37:39 PM) mvo: vadi2: if all you need is a read-only view you may write a dbus backend that runs as root and is able to read the values, then you can use policykit to restrict the read to certain groups (e.g. admin). for the enable/disable stuff you can use the same mechanism, just add a confirmation step (like in gnome-system-tools)
ezekiel000: Auto-start with session works on GNOME in 0.20.0 but asks for a password on log in, this is very untidy. Couldn't admin permissions be granted like in GNOME Adjust Time & Date were it starts up in the notification area but when gufw is opens everything is grey with an unlock button at the bottom?
André Lopes: ezekiel: +1
Marcos: Sorry, but the changes in iptables by ufw & Gufw is persistents! Ask for a password in startup isn't a solution. Best regards and thanks by idea ;)
