Create an desktop integrated version with animations
I've just had this idea, and don't really know if it's a good or a bad idea...
That's why I've create a second milestone.
Instead of having a simple Window application version, we should have some animated things to show collected informations. In that way, the user can use all these animated things on the desktop, and maybe place them somewhere that looks like integrated to the wallpaper.
No 3D, just 2D animations, that must not consume too much of resources.

So continue here about your request to have many pads that's belongs to messaging pads.
Try to imagine the idea: Animated things to represent pads:
- A Dj for Music pads
- A gold miner for downloading pad
- A cloud for Ubuntu one pad
- etc ...
Why not have an animated thing by message for messaging ? Imagine a little person with a big placard where you can see the message and can also answer to it.

So you can have thing a live on you desktop, that will be our pads, and in some cases, like for messaging, these things could be more than one per application.

Nice !! The breaked one is strange, but it's a very good idea !
Or maybe we should use our mascot :
- One is a Dj
- Another one have placard for messaging
- etc ...
