Make gDesklets 0.3x work with gtk2.12 and earlier

Currently, there are problems when you try to run gDesklets with gtk 2.12. This needs to be fixed. Seems like something has changed in gtk or pygtk.

I located the problem: removing the eggcode in utils and switching to GtkStatusIcon (available since gtk+ 2.10) solved the problem.
