Menu in top bar like Ubuntu
I really like how Ubuntu does menus by having them in the top bar which is always displayed.
Here are my reasons for liking it:
1. It doesn't clutter the window taking up space for options.
2. It works well with applications which does not have a tool bar, such as the terminal app.
3. You never have to look around to find the menu as it's always in one place.
Ideas for the menu.
1. Display the currently running application name to the top left.
2. Have it hide by default until you hover your mouse over the application name.
3. Have a search menu, or put it under the help menu, which searches all available menus and displays where that menu is so you know how to find it. Maybe have it also search documentation if exists?
4. List the shortcut for the menu with symbols.

You filed a blueprint for the wrong project. Gala is just the window manager. The top bar is called Wingpanel and it's here: https:/
