List of notes by notebook

Registered by Andrea Basso

When you have a big notebook with many notes inside it's to find quickly the right note, so I thought it could be a good idea to show just a list of notes when the notebook name is double-clicked or to provide a button next to its name.

This is a quick mock-up I've made http://s7.postimage.org/rtpkptbah/mockup.png
Change: it's probably better to show tags instead of creation time.

Whiteboard

If the issue is that finding notes in large notebooks is difficult, then perhaps a date filterbar would be better than a list mode?

Sorting or filtering notes by date could be quite useful sometimes, but I think it doesn't cover the same use case.
I guess they're both useful, but one doesn't replace the other.
Imagine you've taken a course for over 3 months and have a notebook with all notes related to that course. Now you want to see all arguments done, you double-click on the notebook and you quickly have an o you verview of all the arguments. Or imagine you want to quickly find a note you took lot of time before but you don't remember when, you just need to double-click, scroll a little and there you find it. ~voluntatefaber

So let's make a view ordered and grouped by dates? ;)

I'm working on this and by tomorrow I should post some code.
After double-clicking, the user gets the note-list. You think it's better if the user can expand only the wanted note and leave everything else collapsed or expand everything and then automatically scroll to the wanted note? ~voluntatefaber

Here it is, at https://code.launchpad.net/~voluntatefaber/footnote/list-notes-by-notebook you can find a first implementation. Tell me what you think of it ~voluntatefaber
