Fluidity atmospheric project with ATHAM microphysics branch

Registered by James Robert Percival

Branch of fluidity containing a compressible dynamic core with active tracer routines from the ATHAM codebase, coupled with cloud microphysics routines. Target applications include modelling of volcanic eruptions.

Whiteboard

The branch will implement the ATHAM microphysics into fluidity in stages. Current To-Do-List is something like

(1) Add algorithmic hydrostatic solve capability to compressible branch[in progress]
(2) Add DG internal energy
(3) Allow tracer fields to modify equation of state (Active Tracers)
(4) Add forcing routines for microphysical interactions between water tracer phases
(5) Add forcing routines for ash particles
(6) Wrap ATHAM microphysics routines
