Split a transaction between multiple categories
As reported by Brian Quinn:
I am going to provide pictures along with the explanations I give so it will be easier to understand and see. The pictures are numbered in the order that they occur.
1. You choose to edit a transaction. You put the rounded up amount in the amount section, then click categories.
2. In the categories page, you click on the split transaction button.
3, 4. In the split categories page, you double tap the first line under categories to choose the initial transaction category.
5, 6. You put the actual amount of the transaction next to it then it gives you a remainder. Click on the line next to that to choose what account to transfer to (or another category if you are buying multiple things).
7, 8. You check to make sure everything is filled out, click done, then it brings you back to the original transaction screen..
At the end of this, the rounded up amount will be taken out of the checking while the remainder from the actual transaction is transferred to your savings (or whichever account you choose). This mimicks the "keep the change" and makes entering transactions a lot more simple instead of doing two separate ones, one for the actual amount and one for the transferred amount....
