In my opinion current screen layout of the Exile 0.2.99 (trunk) wastes lots of screen estate which is not good for smaller devices like Netbooks. I don't know if Exaile is going to support fully customizable themes where one can organise each components as we like.
By the way, I prepared a mockup design of what I think should be the default layout of the Exail 3.0. Here are few screenshots...
