Control motors and read sensors through the NXT's 4th port (RS-485)

Registered by Joey Kelly

RS-485 is a type of communication between NXT's. Like Bluetooth, it can send data and motor/sensor values to another NXT. Unlike Bluetooth, RS-485 is much faster! The only problem is that you can only do 1 on 1, since there's only 1 RS-485 port on an NXT (4th sensor port).
