indicate new incoming messages in conversation window

while on a mobile device, moving all the way up to the system tray can be a nuisance.
an already open conversation window would assist in accepting or consciously ignoring a new incoming conversation, by displaying an option to open new incoming messages from contacts other than the one(s) already inside the conversation in a new tab.

how?
simply re-introduce the feature we already know, that incoming conversations are automatically opened in a new tab, but this time unobtrusively. make it an "envelope" icon, which upon mouse-over would indicate the contact's identities, upon click would open the respective contact's message in a new tab.

the icon can be placed on the far right end of the conversation window main menu, since top-right is our side for notification in ludic interface policy. it can then, in case of new incoming messages from multiple contacts, become a drop down menu upon click.

this modification would increase empathy's consistency with the Gnome HI guidelines, see:
