Update manager - new improvement
When today user gets updates he gets an picture that may looks like this:
http://
Now the question is how many users know what in this case knows
what cupsys is, or lib32.. is?
Not many actually. This is causing confusion among "normal users".
I think it would be better to have approach like this
http://
It would be easier to put all those updates within different categories like:
System update 345MB
Software update 220 MB
Security updates 20MB
etc.
I think it would be easier to user to understand, i have important system updates that needs to be done or i need to do software updates.
I have also talked to some developer on IRC and this would be possible to implement.

IMHO a treeview with checkboxes should do.
Also, I don't think the user should care about updates at all, they should happen automagically. Therefore we might want to include an update policy setup in Ubiquity, and make "install all updates automatically" default. ~shnatsel

I think that the better way to do this is to update automatically, and maybe show a tray icon, with a label like "Your system is being upgraded". Also, the updates shouldn't be done if the connection it's in a pay to use network (like the mobiles ones).
If the system needs to restart then a window like the ones in the link should be shown.
In the case some app needs to be restarted when upgraded (like firefox) either wait until the app is close (as said in the link) or show a window saying that application is upgraded ,and to work well it needs to be restarted, ~sheosi
