When a command is executing in the background (such as a git request, a compilation, Ubuntu One Sync, updates, downloads, file copying, etc.) and the user clicks to shut down, provide an option to shut down after the process is complete.

Hmm, yeah I have to admit that GNOME session handling sucks. I doubt there's anything we can do about it, though. Supporting all the crazy extensions GNOME has in pantheon-session sounds like a crime, and patching gnome-session is as good as patching gnome-panel. --shnatsel
