elementary OS is not about features, it's about simplicity. And gnome-screenshot is far more obvious than Shutter. --shnatsel

Agree with shnatsel. Perhaps giving another key combination to gnome-screenshot to use its area mode would be a good addition/compromise? --cassidyjames

Alt-Print takes screenshot of current window. And btw, one can always crop the image in case one wants a specific area. --grvrulz

Pretty sure this is a hands-down no. Shutter is overly complex for our purposes. --DanRabbit
