Open App on Specific Workspace

It should be possible to open an app on a specific workspace. What if dragging an app icon (from Slingshot, Plank, and possibly elsewhere) and pushing it against the bottom edge of the display exposed the workspace switcher, then dropping the icon on a workspace opened it there?

Maybe another way to achieve this behaviour is by using a Key + mouse click combination as suggested by Amadeus Stadler in this post on Google+ https://plus.google.com/+AmadeusStadler/posts/dVB5a3oh7fRd

Or perhaps if you were typing the name in an application in Slingshot and you would launch it by pressing CTRL + ENTER instead of just ENTER it would open in the next workspace.
