Video to accompany the launch of Luna

Registered by Sam Tate

I think we should have a video accompanying the launch of Luna. We have a video box on the new webpage which, unless we have other plans for it, needs filling. I will work on the script in the coming weeks (after my exams in 2 weeks time) but anyone is free to help out and edit via Google Docs.

Whiteboard

I'm thinking of making 2 videos. One brief video for marketing only, to go on the front page - and another which goes into more detail about specific things such as Pantheon, Noise etc. ~samtate

What about app-specific videos to introduce some of their functions, etc, like google does it with new products? ~sgo

sgo, I think I shall do some of these too - probably for the discover page. It all depends what I have time for.

What about multilingual videos ? How can we realise that? Is there a system, that can dynamicaly replace text if you switch languages, so we need only one video, with text and sound for every specific language. The text should not be subtitle, but realy *integrated* text. You can do that with HTML5.
The Leanback player can do just that !!! Multiaudio, Multisubtitles, and position setting of subtitles. Please see for integration http://leanbackplayer.com/other/webvtt.html and http://leanbackplayer.com/.

Please also take a look at http://praegnanz.de/html5video/

Perhaps we should note the link to the new document about the (marketing) video, as the old one of practically deprecated. The new one is here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gcJa-ECOsLEDQqehqPeDHqG7gxATMLuIHJtgYBugG8k/edit

As I noted in some comment in that doc, for nice shots of eOS "in the wild" and being used by people; I've got some film experience, a Canon 550D (which can record HD 1080p30fps and 720p60fps) and a f/2.8-55mm lens for a cinematic look with lots of depth of field. Also I know some sleek modern and "hip" locations around town here (Delft) where I live that I think would suit for shooting eOS used on a notebook. When it is decided what kind of shots are needed I'd happily do some shooting.

also a demonstration for eOS on first boot to show of some core features.
