Friendly folder naming association
linux's FS hierarchy naming convention is very 1980'. Even as a 'seasoned' linux user, I do not know the difference between 'bin' and 'sbin' folders in the root directory (I had to look it up). This doesn't seem very elementary, simple, and surely isn't intutive.
My Idea is too make this somewhat cryptic naming convention more friendly, similar to that of Mac OSX. Where ever is possible, (Terminal, Files, ect.) we name these folders more clearly, with a fallback to the original naming if provided by the user. I'm honestly not entirely sure how it could be done, maybe with symlinks and doctoring the icon properties? Sort of how things look and feel in Mac OSX. See the URL for a 10 minute sloppy mockup. Even things like 'binaries' could be changed to 'Apps' or 'Applications'
