Plan A is a go - Canonical now supports armhf builds in PPAs! Our stable PPA is already ARM-enabled. However, the OS patches PPA is not and it doesn't suit Canonical's guidelines for ARM PPAs (some of the stuff in there compiles for far too long, e.g. the Qt patch). We'd probably have to set up a custom repository if we want to get ARM enablement for OS patches, which is a prerequisite for making OS images for ARM. --shnatsel
