New user account pictures
The actual user account pictures that come with eOS don't really fit the system. They are old and need to be revamped.
We all know that there are more important things to do for the next release, but this is an easy task since searching/creating new ones is something that can be done by most of the people (no need to be a developer), so I see no reason why we shouldn't be thinking about this.
Creating a pool for proposals might also be a good idea.

What size should they be? or what size are the original ones?
We should go with 100x100. The original ones are 96x96.
One icon should be the Elementary icon. Probably even the default.
Why elementary icon as default and not "human silhouette" type of icon? Or even better, choose random icon as default, so that even if all users use default, they have different icons to distinguish them! Probably we should choose from a set of unused icons, unless there are more users than icons. ~grzesiek1e5
I'm with ~grzesiek1e5, a random icon as default should be enough. But I guess it would be necessary to tweak the Ubuntu Installer for that. ~pedro.monteiro
What kinds of icons would be good for this? I can make some nice ones. ~Cogra147
This was my attempt back in time when I proposed this. http://
I'm going to mark this as obsolete. We should encourage people to use their "profile photo" or just have the default image. I don't think any modern social network offers generic avatars, so I'm not sure why it would make sense for us to continue to do that --DanRabbit
