Replace Viper by XML streams

It should be possible to replace Viper (which is no longer maintained) with sending XML streams to VTK. It remains to be seen whether there is a performance penalty compared to sending data via arrays as in Viper.

One should also be able (said it before...) to call Viper (or another thin layer around vtk) directly through the C++ interface. We embed Python in C++, import Viper, pass NumPy arrays of data and mesh to viper and plot. This should just work in parallel too.
Should be doable and no writing to files is nessesary.
