Ubuntu Express - Partitioning tool

Registered by Jane Weideman

A partitioning tool for Ubuntu Express. For automatic partitioning, we would like to share code with the existing installer component (partman). This will be best accomplished by providing it as an installable binary package (in addition to an installer component), so that it can be added to the live seed and used in a standard environment. partman uses debconf progress indicators, so some consideration is required in order to provide a consistent progress bar in the installation tool.

reviewed by smurf, corrections by kamion; pending-approval per silbs

Approved by mdz, 2005-11-03

Beta available; working, but questions don't really match the specification yet (cjwatson, 2006-04-19).

Now deferred 3 May 2006. Agreed with mdz to defer remaining feature work and concentrate on stabilisation, .basically we've got it running, but we won't be doing the autopartitioner UI restructuring outlined in that spec until edgy. JMW

Implementation status set back to Unknown for Edgy (mdz)

kamion 2006-08-04: Remaining work is Medium priority (agreed with mdz).

mdz 2006-08-22: deferred to post-edgy in favour of higher-priority goals
