Repeating sprites (css repeat-x and repeat-y)

Problem: Designer has many small and slim images in format 1xN or Nx1, which are used as backgrounds with background-repeat attribute. He wants to create two tilesets: one containing all horizontal images (with repeat-y) and one all vertical (with repeat-x).
Solution: Sprite generator should have an option to set sprite layout: vertical or horizontal
