Log File - Initial

In order to ensure transparency of the modifications made to the data set, it is necessary to log them. There is the option to store this data with the data set (which increases the likelihood the information is retained) or as a separate file (which increases the usefulness of the outputted modified data set). At the most basic level, the log file consists of a text file, with line entries corresponding to modification actions undertaken.
