Vmware select backing datastore for volume

Vmware VMDK driver does not permit to select a datastore to create a specified volume. In situations, there could be multiple datastores backed by different level of qos based storages and user may wish to select a specific type of storage to create volume on. Hence, if, all the datastores are exposed, user gets a larger freedom to host its volumes on.
