Add an iSCSI-based volume driver to support Violin Memory v6000 storage arrays

Registered by Ryan Lucio

This blueprint has been superseded. See the newer blueprint "Cinder Volume ISCSI/FCP Drivers for VMEM v6000 Series Arrays" for updated plans.

The Violin v6000 Openstack Storage Driver is a plugin to Openstack that will add support for block storage service via Violin v6000 arrays using iSCSI. It will implement the common set of functionality required for the Havana release (per support by current v6000 systems). The driver will communicate with the array using a separate Violin-specific python library that provides version-independent access to the array's REST API. That library is maintained by Violin and will be downloadable for users from Violin's website.
