Nowadays, user can manage to install image on a blank volume, and then call "cinder set-bootable " api to make this volume bootable. Thus this volume turns to be an image volume, but without any image metadata. It's rare for a bootable image without image metadata.
Cinder should import an API to update volume image metadata to solve this problem and make volume more readable.

So, assuming that the proposal here is to pull the Glance Image metadata forward into the volume metadata. Is that assumption correct?
If so, can you add some details about how the metadata would be used. Just trying to understand the use case here as we decide whether to approve this.
