NetApp lun alignment improvement
A lun in NetApp storage is used by host operating systems as block device for read and write. Its optmized for the i/o operations according to the type of initiator host operating system when mapped to host on the storage server. If the lun os type or initiator host os type are not properly set then it may lead to misalignment causing performance issues. This improvement suggests providing two new config options for setting lun os and initiator host type os to the admin to optimize block storage performance in his environment and prevent misalignment wherever possible.
