Places and System Feature Request

I wanted to know if it is possible for you to enable these two features as experimental. (or at least: is there a piece of code I can add or edit which gives me these features?) :

1. system toggle button (as I've read here one time) to have System menu in Cardapio (the shortage of place is not important for me and may be for someone else.)

2. make Places show Computer and not mounted partitions (if the second one is possible anyway)
