Options for configuring behaviour of session buttons in bottom pane

Instead of the "Shut down..." or "Log off..." buttons invokes the assigned dialog windows per default, then the user could have the option to define the behaviour of the buttons, e.g. when clicking the Shut Down button, the actual shut down process is initiated or the ability to show a context menu with the options available, like Shut Down, Reboot, Suspend, Hibernate.
A third proposal could also work this way:
User defines default action of the Shut Down button, when the cursor hovers over the button, a context menu pops up with further options, like Reboot, Suspend or Hibernate.
The same concept counts for the Log Off button.
