Support for dpms

Registered by pragmattica

This Ubuntu forums post (http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=7533875&postcount=9) describes the basic idea behind using dpms to control powersaving features. Caffeine could support this, allowing it to be used with distros that use dpms. This comment (http://www.reddit.com/r/linux/comments/8wm7q/caffeine_for_linux_stop_sleep_mode_interupting/c0aoa4x) contains the actual request for dpms support.

Found documentation for the Gnome Powersave DPMS API http://lists.freedesktop.org/archives/xdg/2006-June/006523.html

2009/07/12 - 20:57. Tommy Brunn: I asked around on the arch forums regarding how to detect whether or not to treat DPMS as a stand-alone screensaver. From the discussion it seems like the best way is to ignore DPMS by default, and have an option for the user to completely override the screensaver detection and just disable/enable DPMS if they want to. Anyone who is an advanced enough user to not have a screensaver application and just use DPMS probably won't mind that level of manual configuration.
