Bug Description

<https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/ps-p-indicator-refinements> contained the work item: "Look at caching larger set of timezones on local system (datetime)".

I don't know what this refers to, exactly. (Perhaps the cached set of timezones is so small that large cities are missing during installation?)

As far as I can understand, this meant that the user's tzdata would be cached for faster launch times of indicator-datetime. Charles, can you confirm that?

I don't have any insight to the original intent of that workitem, I wasn't with Canonical when that was discussed.

It's my understanding that the refinements list came from mpt and ted. So if that line isn't mpt's, we should ask ted. :)

This looks vaguely similar to bug 939101.
