Bug Description

Binary package hint: liboping0, liboping-dev

Rationale: As part of the server-o-monitoring blueprint, we would like to include collectd into main as a tool for server monitoring and reporting. collectd makes use of liboping as a package dependency and liboping-dev as a build dependency.

Availability: Currently available in universe, all Build-Depends available in main

Security: No security issues reported. The source package contains a binary package 'oping' which installs a setuid-binary (noted in .overrides), but that package is beyond the scope of this MIR and not needed in main.

Qualtiy Assurance: 0 bugs against ubuntu or debian

Standards Compliance: FHS and Debian Policy compliant.

Maintenance: The package is in sync with debian with the exception of being rebuilt for Perl 5.12 on oneiric.

Dependencies: All build dependencies are in main. liboping-dev depends on liboping0.
