Bug Description
Binary package hint: sssd
The System Security Services Daemon upstream declares certain releases to be Long-Term Maintenance releases that will continue to receive bugfixes, security fixes and minor enhancements for longer periods (at least a full year).
Ubuntu is still shipping SSSD 1.2.x, which is EOL upstream. In order to reduce the maintenance efforts on Ubuntu, it would be prudent to upgrade to the long-term maintenance release.
Of note, there may be security vulnerabilities present in SSSD 1.2.x that will no longer receive fixes.

It's worth noting that 10.04 LTS, which will be supported until 2015, shipped with SSSD 1.0.5. Not sure whether this was an LTM release or not.
Stephen, how long are LTM release of SSSD are being maintained? Until the next LTM comes out, is that it?
