Bug Description

See https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/other-foundations-n-backports-notautomatic for details. The apt changes are landed now, so we need to make the Launchpad changes to make further progress.

We need to add two fields to -backports Release files for >= Natty:

NotAutomatic: yes
ButAutomaticUpgrades: yes

The latter will be ignored by older apts, but the former will not, so this cannot be done for older series.

Obviously we need it before Ubuntu releases, but the sooner the better as this is difficult to test in a representative way without the Launchpad changes.

There are also additional changes in the way Ubuntu Backports is run that depend on this change being in place. I need to take them to the tech board for approval and ( inevitably at this point) get a feature freeze exception. The sooner the better from this perspective too as the longer I wait, the harder all that gets.

Yes. We want to do that now.

It is done. The next change in natty-backports will make it NotAutomatic ButAutomaticUpgrades.
