Bug Description
All code that exists needs to have unit test coverage. Once that's done, we can close this bug. GEIS has begun doing this using check. See the GEIS source code for inspiration, and ask questions on IRC about how to do this effectively whenever there are questions.
Also, in that vein:
* every bug that is found needs to have a unit test added that fails (exhibiting the bug)
* when the bug is fixed, the unit test will pass
* all contributions of new features or changes need to include unit tests
* no code should be merged that doesn't include a unit test
