Bug Description

Binary package hint: ndiswrapper-utils

Using a Linksys WMP-11 wireless-B PCI card in a Micron Millenia XI motherboard:
Install Dapper Drake Flight 7 on a clean hard drive.

Using Synaptic Package Manager, installed ndiswrapper-utils prior to installing Win2000 drivers (card not natively supported).

Install drivers LSIPNDS.inf and WMP11NDS.inf using ndiswrapper -i as I have done many times since 11/2005.

After adding ndiswrapper to /etc/modules , I restart the computer.

Using System -- Administration -- Networking, enable wlan0, set SSID, set to DHCP, activate wlan0. This is the only network interface visible.

System is working, can go on-line without problems.

Shutdown computer. After period of time, turn system back on. When gnome gui comes up, there is no internet connection. Checking Networking, there is no wlan0.

Using Synaptic Package Manager, remove ndiswrapper-utils and ubuntu-minimal, reinstall ubuntu-minimal, restart system. Reinstall ndiswrapper-utils; wlan0 is back and working. When system is restarted, I have to repeat this procedure to reconnect to the internet.

repeated 3 times using Dapper Drake 6.06 Beta 2 and 2 times using Dapper Drake 6.06 Alpha.

lspci before installing and after above procedure:
