Bug Description

When I have a movie "Foo" with files "Foo (cd 1).avi" and "Foo (cd 2).avi", I cannot use the Video Library organizer to get this working. I can tell it that "Foo (cd 1).avi" belongs to movie "Foo", but I cannot anymore for "Foo (cd 2).avi". Also, ideally... the player should see the two files as one thing.

I wouldn't mind, as a temporary solution to have Foo (part 1) en Fooo (part 2) in the movies list.
It is better than having disc 1 (which happens consequently for some reason) in the unclassified videos and disc 2 in the movies list as the movie itself.

Agreed, that would be a good start.
But my feeling is that it's not easier to implement this latter solution than grouping the two (or more) files under one entry and enqueuing them both when played.

An easy hack would be to have (internal perhaps) playlist for the player.

Although that would indeed hide the problem, I'm pretty sure such a hack would also trigger a lot of other functional issues. I'd go for the clean way: implement a Video class that may have a list of several files. Ideally, the concatenation of all those files should be seen by GStreamer as only one stream so that we get the correct position/duration information.

Splitting media in several files is a nonsense inherited from the CD-R days, it should be hidden to the normal end-user.

summary: - doesn't handle multiple-file movies very well

The latest free moovida 1.09 does not get any maintenance since a while. Now moovidadb.com is supporting Linux and support can be found at : http://www.fluendo.com/faq/
