Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

when resuming from suspend and hibernate there are some artefacts around the panels, and if i open menus/popups, around these, too. they disappear after some time, but forcing the area to redraw one time is not enough...

screenshot is attached, never mind the black censoring...

Hi nailor,

Thanks for including an image to demonstrate the issue. Could you also please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log file from after reproducing this issue. If you've made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

This was a bug in the XAA acceleration architecture, which is resolved by specifying AccelMethod EXA in your xorg.conf. Note that in Intrepid EXA has some performance regression compared with XAA, so it may or may not be worth switching. For Jaunty, EXA performance is much improved, and we moved to EXA by default.

If by chance you still reproduce the problem in Jaunty, feel free to reopen the bug; please attach a new Xorg.0.log in this case.
