SVG FONTS: Display is incorrect for SVG Fonts

Bug Description

Currently, Inkscape is not compliant with the SVG 1.1
spec with regards to displaying and understanding SVG
Fonts.

Please see the attached file from a font created from
the Open Clip Art Library...

I would like to see Inkscape be able use embedded fonts and
be able to display them as editable text. By the way, I am
the creator of the attached font so no worries about
licencing issues.

This bug still exists in 0.45.1 WinXP.

Hi -- I'm interested in this issue, too.

Kidproto--can you indicate what steps you took to create the attached document? Did you use Fontforge? Also, perhaps you could be explicit about what the desired correct rendering should be (some example PNGs of the glyphs, e.g.?)
