Bug Description

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Plug in a DisplayLink USB Graphics adapter to your Ubuntu computer.
2. Go to System Settings, Monitors.
3. DispalyLink monitor is not displayed.

Work-around:
Installing a Mainline Kernel build from the Ubuntu Mainline Kernel PPA will resolve the issue.

Additional Information:
It would appear that some change that Ubuntu is applying to the Linux kernel is breaking support for DisplayLink USB graphics.

There are now a bunch of products out there using this chip set. Support for DL-3xxx would be SO helpful.

If anyone watching this bug does know of a recipe to get these "universal" docking stations working please share.

Just for the heck of it I jumped to the Utopic Beta and still no joy. Which is to say the USB and Ethernet ports work but still no monitor.

Dennis Gesker, please file a new report for the the specific model you have, versus reopening expired bug reports against an EoL kernel series as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/LTSEnablementStack .
