Bug Description

Running autopilot launch with one of the below applications causes a 'RuntimeError: Unable to find Autopilot interface.' or a 'Gtk-Message: Failed to load module "autopilot"'. In general some issues can be worked around by using the -i switch with autopilot launch to force Gtk or Qt. Some applications however will fail to load the module and require source changes in order to work.

geany
xchat
vlc
nautilus

I would recommend closing this as won't fix as apart from patching the source of the applications themselves there is nothing the autopilot team can do to enable these applications to work with autopilot. This list has shrunk with all the fixes and additionally support for launcher scripts, etc, that has gone into autopilot but there will always be some applications that don't work.

nautilus works after running nautilus -q first and then launching nautilus with autopilot, it's issue is the same as https://bugs.launchpad.net/autopilot/+bug/1187484.

The other programs in this list, geany, xchat, and vlc will have to be modified to load 3rd party gtk-modules so the autopilot gtk module can do introspection.

Marking won't fix as suggested
