Package: lirc
Version: 0.7.0pre8-1
Severity: serious

Hi,

Your package is failing to build because it's trying to make
/dev/lircd during build:
test -e /dev/lircd || (/bin/sh ../mkinstalldirs /dev && /bin/mknod /dev/lircd p)
/bin/mknod: `/dev/lircd': Permission denied
make[3]: *** [mkdev] Error 1

Kurt

Build? I thought it did the evil thing during _install_
Oh my!
Yes, I'm also looking into that :)

thanks

I suspect that the FTBFS bug can be fixed by adding --enable-sandboxed
to the call to configure in debian/rules (around line 60). At least,
this makes it build and (after #287370 is also fixed; the fix to this
bug is included in the patch to that one) install in a chroot. I don't
have the hardware to test lirc, so I can't be sure it really works,
however, and thus won't be uploading packages to unstable until someone
helps me test them.
