Do you still get the oops if you remove /lib/modules/3.5.0-20-generic/kernel/ubuntu/i915/i915_hsw.ko (or move it outside of /lib/modules/...)?

The laptop started perfectly without the module. It it possible to blacklist this motherboard with this module?

Same problem here with Thinkpad T410s.

With version 3.5.0-19 everything is fine (however, ACPI conflicts listed above are also present).

With version 3.5.0-20 I get messages related to debugfs for i915:
Could not create debugfs 'i915_reg_rw' directory
Could not create debugfs 'i915_flip_complete' directory
Could not create debugfs 'i915_flip_request' directory
   [...]
Error: Driver 'i915' is already registered, aborting...
Then I get the kernel oops.

We believe we found the root cause and I've uploaded a test kernel that will fix the issue. You can download the test kernel here:

There are 2 versions, one for amd64 (64bits) and other for i386 (32bits). Please give it a try to see if it solves the problem and, if possible, report back with a dmesg. Remember to install, at least, the linux-image-* and the linux-image-extra-* packages. Thanks.
