Bug Description
The initial height of the iconView showing thumbnails of the available symbols is close to zero with Ubuntu's custom overlay-scrollbar module - see attached screenshots of Inkscape 0.48+devel r11885 comparing Ubuntu (Unity) with OS X (GTK+/Quartz, default Adwaita GTK2 theme from Gnome 3.6).

Fixed in revision 12282 (hard-coded minimal height increased to 200px):
