Whiteboard
pax: This is a perfect example of why we need such a system. I think it's a great idea, but the only way anyone can tell that more than one person likes it is by someone writing something on the white board like this. It would be nice to have a quantifiable way for developers to determine how much support there is for an idea. Also, I would say polling rather than voting since voting implies group decision-making while polling implies a survey of opinion. -pax
MishaS: there's common practice in open source world -- -1, 0-, 0+, +1. Under voting I meant something like that. Another possibilities is for people to register their interest by saying just "+1", then you'll see how many people would be interested in getting a particular specification implemented.
2007-07-24: pax: What about having the ability to add a blueprint to a 'favorites' list? In a users personal blueprint page (mine: https:/
2007-11-20 AliTabuger7: I like the idea of having a new button that performs similar to subscribe, but adds a vote and adds it to a list in your profile. I would like to see it named instead something similar to "I like". The Karma idea sounds nice. Except, that wouldn't really be democratic. I've read that Open Source is more of a "Do-mocracy" than a "De-mocracy", but that is not what this feature is about. This feature is designed to see how much demand the public has for it. Besides, if someone of greater influence subscribes to a topic, it is likely to be done much faster anyway.
